Overview
As an R&D Senior Hardware Engineer in ABB’s Electrification business, you will drive hardware development for UPS product lines. You will work within cross-functional teams to define specifications, perform simulations, and optimize designs across analog, digital, and power domains. Your work will focus on integrating mechanical, electrical, and PCBA systems while maintaining compliance with industrial standards. You’ll contribute to reliable, safe, and efficient industrial power solutions that support ABB’s mission of a cleaner, smarter future. This role offers hands-on impact in a global, collaborative setting with opportunities to influence product architecture and reliability outcomes.
Verantwortungsbereiche- Execute complex engineering assignments across hardware domains
- Apply processes and requirements including architectural constraints
- Define technical specs, run circuit simulations, and work on analog, digital, and power systems
- Lead design optimization for integration of electrical and PCBA with cross-functional teams
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems, components, and interfaces
- Support compliance with environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for industrial products
- Guide RCA investigations and document changes through ECNs and BOMs
- Master in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- 5+ years in electrical and power electronic systems
- Experience with digital and analog circuit design and simulation
- EMI design, mitigation, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of IEC and UL product regulations and standards
- Proficiency with ECNs and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Experience leading failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Excellent command of English
