Overview
In this role you will design and validate thermo-mechanical solutions for DC medium-voltage electro-mechanical components used in safety-critical railway and renewable energy applications. You will run multiphysics simulations focused on cooling, develop concepts to certification-ready products, and contribute to industrialization and ongoing product improvements. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to protect infrastructure while advancing innovative engineering. - Mechanical and thermal design development and validation of DC medium-voltage electro-mechanical components
- Multiphysics simulations with emphasis on cooling and heat transfer
- Concept feasibility, finite element analysis, prototyping, validation tests towards certification and launch
- Industrialization planning and execution, product improvements, and maintenance of existing products
- Master in Mechanical Engineering (or PhD in Mechanical/Energy/Electro-Mechanical)
- 5+ years as a designer for electromagnetic devices
- Experience with complex multi-technology systems (thermal, mechanical, electrical, magnetic)
- Experience testing/validating to international standards is an advantage
- French or English fluency
- 3D CAD modelling knowledge (SolidWorks advantageous)
- COMSOL experience advantageous
- Knowledge of finite element analysis (thermal, multi-physics, stress)
- Experience in reporting and technical documentation
- Electro-magnetism knowledge is a plus
