UBS Card Center - Middleware Engineer 80–100% (f/m/d)

In this role you will operate and evolve UBS Card Center's middleware landscape to ensure secure, reliable applications across environments. You will collaborate with developers, release managers, and infrastructure engineers to modernize platform processes and automate operational tasks. You will tackle complex middleware and integration challenges, driving stability, security, and efficiency. This is a hands-on position with a clear focus on DevOps, CI/CD, and cross-functional impact within a leading payments context.

• Operate, configure and optimize middleware platforms for business-critical applications
• Design, implement and maintain standardized DevOps processes for platform lifecycle and application support
• Collaborate with application development teams to integrate and configure applications on middleware platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex middleware, performance and integration issues across test and production
• Automate recurring operational tasks via scripting, configuration templates, and IaC approaches
• Contribute to modernization of the middleware landscape ensuring security and regulatory compliance

• 3–5 years of experience operating and engineering middleware platforms in a production environment
• Experience with Open Liberty, IBM WAS and BAW, Tomcat, Node.js or similar
• Practical experience with release and deployment processes; familiarity with IBM DevOps Deploy; understanding of CI/CD and GitOps
• Solid Linux/Unix, networking and virtualization skills
• Basic knowledge of containers and cloud platforms is an advantage
• Very good English; German is a strong plus
