Overview
In this role you will lead Swiss Re’s Life & Health retrocession activities and drive innovative risk-transfer solutions for both traditional and alternative capital. You’ll collaborate across underwriting, finance, legal and external markets to surface new value beyond predefined requests, shaping the L&H retrocession strategy. You enable capital efficiency and profitable growth by connecting L&H with the broader alternative capital partner ecosystem. This high-visibility leadership position offers scope to influence how risk transfer supports the business at scale.

- Lead the L&H Retro team, setting strategy and ensuring high-quality structuring and execution of transactions across lines of business
- Build a proactive partnership with the L&H Business Unit to understand portfolio, priorities and capital needs
- Identify opportunities where retrocession or other risk-transfer solutions add value beyond predefined requests
- Develop and evaluate solutions across traditional retrocession, alternative capital and third-party investor transactions with ILS team
- Drive deals from ideation to execution by coordinating underwriting, structuring, finance, legal, risk and capital management
- Engage external markets and counterparties to gauge appetite and develop new opportunities
- Strengthen connectivity between L&H and the broader alternative capital partner team to leverage third-party capital
- Lead and develop a high-performing, collaborative, accountable team
- Deep expertise in Life & Health reinsurance with strong grasp of risk transfer mechanisms and capital implications
- Proven retrocession or structured transaction experience with leadership of complex deals
- Strong capital management knowledge including interactions with solvency and accounting frameworks
- Track record of senior stakeholder engagement across underwriting, finance, legal and external parties
- Leadership experience and ability to develop high-performing teams in a matrixed environment
