Role Purpose
This expert role delivers value‑add sourcing services to clients in a structured, professional and consistent manner. The focus is on professional services procurement, including consulting, legal, audit and HR services, in a client‑facing, fast‑paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead clients through end‑to‑end lifecycle of category strategy development, issuance of competitive tenders, and compliant contract negotiation and execution.
- Act as a subject matter expert for professional services categories and advise clients on supplier capabilities and best practices.
- Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies to drive value for clients.
- Serve as an expert on supplier offerings, providing insights into strategies and developing innovative solutions.
- Strategic sourcing & category management for professional services such as consulting, legal, audit and HR services.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities and cost structures to identify savings and value improvement opportunities.
- Lead RFPs, RFIs and competitive bidding processes, including supplier selection and negotiation.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, service levels and performance metrics.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, partnering closely with clients to understand needs.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Resolve delivery, quality or cost issues.
- Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and efficiency gains.
- Mitigate risks related to supplier reliability, compliance and market volatility.
- Support sourcing lead and team leads in sourcing initiatives of varying complexity and scale.
- Manage market tenders and evaluation of bid proposals across cross‑functional teams to determine supplier selection.
- Understand business requirements and shape deals to meet those requirements.
- Draft contracts based on standard terms and conditions.
- Negotiate contracts to achieve optimal commercial terms.
- Maintain market awareness of professional services supplier landscapes and contribute to sourcing area plans and business development.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with business partners, key suppliers and multiple client groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Supply Chain concentration or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years (ideally 10+) in Professional Services sourcing with contract and commercial negotiations, in categories like consulting, tax, accounting, audit, legal and HR services.
- Proven sourcing and negotiation experience with major suppliers.
- Ability to draft and negotiate contracts with minimal legal support, including complex structures.
- Experience identifying savings opportunities and leading negotiating strategies.
- Strong relationship management, deal structuring, vendor management and procurement expertise.
- Proven capability with multi‑million‑dollar sourcing projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; German proficiency highly desirable.
