Overview
As Strategic Sourcing Manager you will shape global sourcing for raw materials and surface treatment, partnering with business units and operations to secure cost-effective supply. You will drive category strategies, manage supplier performance, and advance a compliant, sustainable supply base across regions. The role supports growth by delivering measurable cost reductions and optimizing the geographic sourcing footprint. Verantwortungsbereiche- Manage direct material categories (capacity, performance, knowledge)
- Contribute to global Direct Material & Supply Base performance (QCD)
- Represent categories within VAT and interface with BU/Engineering (PDP process)
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies and leverage sourcing levers
- Lead supplier relationship management across global supply base
- Monitor supply base risk and drive continuous improvement of direct material practices
- Assemble and lead category-specific / cross-functional sourcing boards
- Support objective alignment with company strategy and regional footprints
- 5+ years in strategic and operational sourcing with global category management experience
- Experience with category-specific production techniques and processes
- Knowledge of category sourcing markets
- Proficiency in Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in Eastern Europe, Asia; BCC and spend relocation exposure
- Experience in machine building, vacuum technology or semiconductors
- Cross-functional/team leadership experience
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills
- German and English proficient
