Specialist - Accessories Developer (Technical Bags)

In this role you lead the technical development of On’s accessories and soft goods from concept to production, collaborating with Design, Product Management, and global partners. You translate creative vision into functional, commercially viable products while upholding design, quality, performance, and sustainability standards. You drive tech packs, construct innovative solutions, and optimize ergonomics, fit, and durability to meet seasonal and commercial goals. • Develop and manage tech packs with drawings, material specs, color applications, and BOM documentation in Illustrator and PLM
• Create innovative construction techniques and product solutions that satisfy design intent and business targets (FOB, margins, durability)
• Analyze 2D patterns and 3D mock-ups to optimize ergonomics, volume, and performance
• Lead fit, function, and sample review sessions; document technical comments and communicate adjustments to factories
• Resolve technical and structural challenges via advanced bonding, stitching, and assembly methods
• Own development process for Inline and Special Projects; ensure timely execution against calendar milestones
• Maintain clear communication with factories on spec updates and prototype iterations to reduce waste
• Collaborate with Accessories Creation Lead, Design Lead, and Product Manager to align with seasonal timelines and commercial goals
• Build vendor relationships and engage in on-site travel and meetings

• 5+ years of experience developing accessories focused on bags and backpacks
• Proven track record in performance gear and high-end products
• Experience in performance and lifestyle bags/packs is highly desirable
• Strong design-to-3D translation skills using PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator
• Global sourcing experience with top manufacturers to push textile innovation
