Overview
As Automation Engineer, you will advance automated drug product workflows and maintain automation platforms to support drug product manufacturing. You will partner with automation scientists and cross-functional teams to design and implement digital automation solutions while ensuring GxP and safety standards. The role offers hands-on work with liquid handlers and opportunities to lead automation workstreams and CAPA efforts. You’ll contribute to Lonza’s mission to enable breakthrough therapies at scale through innovative automation and digitalization.

- Perform routine sample preparation of drug product samples using automated liquid handlers and maintain automation systems
- Design, develop, program, and implement automated solutions across digital platforms
- Act as SME in automation and digitalization to lead various workstreams
- Contribute to root cause analysis for automation issues and implement CAPA
- Ensure automation activities comply with GxP regulations, safety standards, and company policies
- Collaborate with automation scientists and stakeholders to propose and implement automated solutions
- Master Degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences or related field
- Proficient programming skills in Python and other automation-relevant languages
- Hands-on experience with liquid handlers or exposure to Hamilton Vantage/STAR line or Tecan Fluent/Evo
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
