CMM Engineer

In this role you apply metrology expertise to establish and optimize offline measurement programs for high-precision vacuum valve components. You support production quality through CMM operations, deviation handling, and process improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to introduce new products. You will mentor operators, share measurement knowledge, and apply SPC methods to drive quality and efficiency. This role offers impact by shaping measurement standards in a world-leading engineering environment.

• Create and optimize offline measurement programs based on CAD models using Mitutoyo systems
• Perform tactile and scanning 3D measurements and ensure accurate measurements by CMM operators
• Support deviation, corrective action, and improvement processes in production and with suppliers
• Advise and support internal specialist departments on measurement-related and process-related matters
• Promote professional exchange, collaboration, and knowledge transfer within measurement and production engineering
• Contribute to new product introductions, including preparing product-specific production inspection plans
• Perform initial measurements and validate results as part of new product introductions
• Apply SPC to monitor, control, and improve production processes
• Use statistical and quality software (Q-DAS) to analyse process data
• Support and provide technical guidance to CMM operators

• Basic technical training
• Very good German; good English preferred
• Several years of experience in coordinate measuring technology, CMM programming, and optical inspection systems (ideally Mitutoyo)
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings with GD&T
• Knowledge of materials, especially aluminium and stainless steel
• Strong math, descriptive geometry, and spatial awareness
• Familiarity with standards and quality requirements
• Ability to work independently and provide technical support to CMM operators
• Strong teamwork and cross-department collaboration skills
• Very good communication in a technical environment
• ISO GPS training is an advantage
• Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) is an advantage
• Willingness to work in a two-shift system
