Observability Engineer

In this role you will design, implement and operate modern observability solutions to ensure visibility, reliability, and performance of IT services across cloud and on-prem environments. You will own hands-on engineering while shaping observability strategy and platform evolution in collaboration with platform, architecture, and ServiceNow teams. You’ll build scalable telemetry pipelines, dashboards, and alerts, and drive integration with ITSM/ITOM to improve signal quality and incident response. • Engineer, operate and improve observability platforms as a service for infra, platform and app teams
• Implement and maintain telemetry collection for metrics, logs and traces (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
• Design scalable telemetry pipelines (collection, processing, enrichment, routing)
• Build dashboards, alerts and SLIs for operators and service owners
• Integrate observability with IT service management, event management and automation
• Support migration from legacy monitoring to modern observability
• Troubleshoot performance/availability in distributed systems
• Collaborate with application teams and platform stakeholders on best practices and signal quality
• Contribute to observability standards, guidelines and roadmap planning
• Create and maintain operational docs, runbooks and onboarding guides

• Proven hands-on observability/monitoring experience
• Experience with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry and related tooling
• Designing and operating telemetry pipelines for metrics/logs/traces
• Observability in cloud-native and distributed systems
• Experience with AI/ML workload observability (LLM observability) is a plus
• Cloud experience, especially Microsoft Azure
• On-premises environments, especially Microsoft-based virtualization
• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Bash, JSON or YAML
• IaC for observability solutions (Terraform)
• IT service management/process knowledge a plus
