Senior Kotlin Software Engineer

You will contribute to cross‑platform desktop and embedded software for e‑bike analytics, maintenance, and factory tooling. You’ll design, implement, test, and maintain high‑quality Kotlin solutions across desktop and embedded contexts, collaborating with cross‑functional partners. You work at the intersection of desktop apps, device communication, and factory processes to enable reliable interaction with e‑bike systems via USB/HID. This role is based in Cham, Switzerland, with a 4‑day in‑office expectation, offering impact through scalable, testable software and close teamwork. You’ll engage in AI‑assisted development and help shape robust CI/CD pipelines and technical standards.

• Design and implement shared business logic across desktop platforms using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), with platform‑specific integrations as needed.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering standards; create and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests.
• Participate in code reviews and drive improvements in coding standards and practices; analyze and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build automation, release processes, and development tooling; document features, interfaces, and workflows.
• Collaborate with product, quality, and cross‑functional teams to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Engage in AI‑enhanced software development processes and ensure robust device communication with embedded e‑bike systems via USB/HID.
• Design robust communication with embedded firmware and align protocols with tooling; support diagnostics, maintenance, and factory assembly.

• Strong experience with Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) in production systems.
• Solid understanding of Ktor and modern asynchronous/networked application design.
• Experience building maintainable, testable software in complex systems.
• Hands‑on device communication experience, ideally with USB/HID.
• Strong software engineering practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in technical discussions.
