Overview
As an Industrialization Chemist & Laboratory Manager, you drive the development and industrialization of sustainable fragrance-ingredient manufacturing processes from lab to production. You collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, and QA to transfer new processes, implement green chemistries, and use data-driven tools to optimize performance and costs. You lead cross-functional industrialization projects and mentor the lab team, shaping scalable solutions with significant global impact. This role combines science leadership with operational excellence in a fast-moving environment.

- Develop safe, sustainable processes at lab scale and scale up to production
- Support transfer and implementation of new processes in plants
- Propose and implement green chemistry technologies (catalysis, enzymatic, flow chemistry) across scales
- Use PAT, DoE, simulations, and data mining for data-driven industrialization
- Act as reference expert for key fragrance ingredients, driving process excellence and cost efficiency
- Lead industrialization projects through collaboration with Manufacturing, Research, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs and Quality, and external partners
- Manage and mentor laboratory technicians, promoting a collaborative, high-EHS standard work environment
- Prepare comprehensive project reports and formal procedures for lab and pilot-scale processes
- PhD in Chemistry and related prestige institution (EPFL, ETHZ or similar)
- Experimental and theoretical expertise in organic chemistry
- Solid expertise in industrial organic chemistry
- Experience in chemical reaction engineering is beneficial
- 5+ years in an industrial environment is beneficial
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills

- Fluent in English; French is an asset, willingness to learn mandatory
