Mechanical Supervisor (80-100%)

As a Mechanical Site Supervisor at ABB in the Process Industries division, you lead on-site mechanical activities for Gearless Mill Drives at mining sites. You coordinate installation and maintenance work, ensure safety and quality compliance, and serve as the technical liaison between ABB and the customer. You collaborate with customers, contractors, and ABB teams to deliver reliable, safe, and compliant operations. This role offers global travel, hands-on leadership, and impact on critical mining equipment within ABB’s electrification and automation portfolio.

• Supervise mechanical maintenance and installation for GMD at customer sites
• Coordinate scope-driven mechanical work based on site conditions and resources
• Enforce EHS policies and conduct safety briefings for on-site teams
• Guide welders, helpers, and local mechanics to perform tasks safely and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with latest technical docs and ABB quality standards; report document discrepancies
• Participate in site meetings and prepare clear service and installation reports

• Completed apprenticeship as an industrial or mechanical technician/engineer
• Minimum 3 years hands-on mechanical site experience, preferably in mining/heavy industry/power plants
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems; knowledge of ABB GMD is an advantage
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
• Willingness to travel globally on short notice, including weekends/public holidays
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings in English
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills
