Global Head of Technical Services Material Science CASE& Cementitious Materials

We’re looking for a Head of Technical Services to lead our global expert team and technical centers in developing solutions for the construction industry, specifically in Paints & Coatings, Adhesives & Sealants and Cementitious materials. The role oversees customer service levels, technical support to sales, product validation, and the successful transfer of proofs of concept into commercial launches. You will work at the intersection of materials science and application excellence, shaping how the industry uses Omya’s mineral products for performance and sustainability. Lead a global team, set the benchmark for technical service, and help deliver impactful solutions for our customers. Responsibilities - Set the Technical Services strategy and service model, ensuring strong regional coverage with modern technical centers and field teams. - Oversee field trials, customer validations, and scale‐up to commercial readiness. - Implement solid investigation and resolution processes, speeding up issue closure and improving root‐cause learning. - Drive continuous improvement across all technical center operations. - Develop structured product and application training for Sales and partners, including demos. - Translate customer needs into product requirements and manage customer qualification for new products with cross‐functional teams. - Collaborate with Manufacturing and QA on go‐to‐market and launch activities. - Represent Omya in industry forums and key events. - Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse global team with strong knowledge sharing and performance accountability. Requirements - Degree in Chemistry or Chemical/Materials/Civil Engineering; advanced degree preferred. - 8–10+ years in technical service/application technology for paints & coatings is a Must; adhesives, sealants, or cementitious materials is a plus. - Proven ability to lead international expert teams. - Demonstrated success working with Sales, Product/Portfolio, Manufacturing, and Quality to commercialize new solutions. - Strong communicator, effective in international and intercultural environments. - Proven skills in driving change. - Excellent German and English (spoken and written); additional languages beneficial. - Willingness for frequent international business travel.
