Dietary Aide - Part Time- Casual - Trillium Court

This position is for our Trillium Court Home, located in Kincardine, ON . This is a casual position with no guaranteed working hours.

Morning shift: 6:00AM-2PM

Afternoon shift: 12PM-8PM

What You’ll Be Doing

• Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences. Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains foods at proper serving temperature.
• Assists Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables, and fruits. Follows basic instructions in preparing simple foods such as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.
• Clears plates and trays, loads, and operates dishwasher. Cleans pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.
• Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
• Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.
• Assembles nourishment carts and stocks unit kitchenettes.
• Participates in facility meetings as assigned and attends in-service education programs.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or higher academic certification
• Degree/Diploma in nutrition or food service program is an asset
• Previous dietary skills, knowledge, and experience in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality food service environments is an asset
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position (standing for long periods, moderate to heavy lifting, fast-paced environment)
• Ability to read and write in English and understand simple verbal and written instructions in English
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
• Successful candidate must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
• Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
