Head of Software Engineering Practice

SIX Publié le 22/04/2026
Description du poste

AI is fundamentally changing how software is built. At SIX, we are seizing this moment to reimagine our entire software development lifecycle — from how teams are structured and how work is planned, to how code is written, tested, and deployed. The goal: dramatically faster delivery, higher quality, and a new operating model where human judgment and AI capability reinforce each other.

As Head of Software Engineering Transformation, you will lead this change across the organisation. You will own the strategy, the standards, and the people transformation that enables hundreds of engineers to work in fundamentally new ways. This is a high‑visibility leadership role with direct executive sponsorship and impact across our international engineering organisation.

What You Will Do

  • define and drive the strategy for AI-driven software development across SIX, setting engineering standards, maturity targets, and adoption roadmaps
  • lead the people transformation — evolving developer roles, team structures, processes and ways of working to unlock the full potential of AI‑augmented software engineering
  • establish governance and quality frameworks for AI-assisted development, including security, compliance, and code review practices
  • design and deliver the change management program to build capability and accelerate adoption across engineering teams in Switzerland, Spain, Poland and India
  • measure and communicate transformation impact through productivity metrics, delivery speed improvements, and engineering maturity assessments

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in software engineering in an enterprise environment
  • proven track record of driving large‑scale engineering or organisational transformations — reshaping operating models, not just introducing tools
  • strong familiarity with AI-powered development tools and modern SDLC practices including CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps and SAFe principles
  • experience leading communities of practice, chapters, or guilds in a scaled agile environment
  • excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to inspire, align engineering, product, and business leadership around a shared vision
  • experience in financial services or other regulated industries is a strong advantage; fluency in English is required, German is a plus

Benefits

  • Hybrid working model with up to 40% remote work, supporting flexibility and collaboration across teams
  • Attractive Swiss pension fund with 60% of contributions financed by SIX as the employer
  • Extended maternity and paternity leave with full pay and additional family‑related benefits
  • Discounts on public transport, parking options, and food and beverage offerings depending on location
  • Free access to technical, business, and language learning platforms to support continuous development
