The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Housekeeping Department, the Housekeeping Trainee is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the guest rooms and for maintaining high‑quality room standards on a daily basis. The trainee reports to the Housekeeping Team. Starting date: July 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Support guest room cleaning operations, ensuring hygiene, quality and presentation standards are consistently met, including correct room setup and amenities placement.
  • Assist with housekeeping logistics across AM/PM shifts, including organizing storage areas, handling inventory and replenishing guest supplies and special items (e.g., pillows, duvets, kits).
  • Support laundry and linen operations, including guest laundry handling, basic garment care/ironing and linen processing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas in line with hotel standards.
  • Support Uniform Room operations, including uniform distribution, tracking, organization and care processes.
  • Assist with supervisory duties by conducting room inspections, coordinating rework where needed, responding to guest requests/complaints professionally, and supporting daily task allocation and shift organization.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a student in a Swiss Hotel Management school.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure – the position will include weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork, reliability and a cooking enthusiast.
  • High level of commitment and high quality awareness.
  • Very good English knowledge; further foreign language skills are an advantage.
